Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify medical and hygienic problems in adolescents and young people when using products from metal alloys during the piercing procedure. The method of questioning (51 teenagers) revealed that 66.7 % of respondents experienced allergic reactions at puncture sites and in 39.2 % – prolonged wound healing or inflammatory reactions (74.0 %), 19.6 % had scars. For the prevention of complications, a system of educational measures with clarification of questions about the conditions and rules of the piercing procedure is of great importance. The titanium alloy of the product is optimal for wearing in the first months after the procedure.
