FEATURES OF THE TREATMENT OF THYROID DISEASES IN OBSESSED CHILDREN
Keywords:
obesity, children, adolescents, thyroidopathy, thyroid failureAbstract
A total of 229 obese children 6–16 years old (129 boys and 100 girls) were examined. It was found that 35,1 % of obese patients had thyroid pathology. Among obese patients, 24,7 % had signs of subclinical hypothyroidism, the frequency of which depended on the sex, age, and nature of thyroidopathy. Treatment of children with obesity and thyroid dysfunction involves the appointment of potassium iodide and levothyroxine preparations in combination with the correction of insulin resistance (if any).
